FAQ

What does your handle “thirtythreeforty” mean?

In the science fiction novel Ventus by Karl Schroeder, 3340 is the antagonist artificial intelligence. The book is a wonderful mix of hard science fiction with a medieval setting. I highly recommend it if you are a sci-fi fan.

How do you pronounce your blog’s name?

The official name is “&> /dev/null” after the Unix idiom that throws away output. I tend to say “dev null,” or just “my blog.” You can do what you like. I don’t think there’s a good way to pronounce most Unix gibberish.

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. These help me finance the continued operation of the site, as well as helping buy and build more neat embedded systems. I use these sparingly; I definitely won’t link to something if I wouldn’t recommend it even without the affiliate link.
